This website (aylinkizil.com) is operated by Aylin Kızıl ("we", "the data controller"). For questions, contact: aykizil@gmail.com.

What We Process, and Why

This site has no accounts, forms, or online sales. Visiting it may involve limited processing of: (a) standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) — IP address, browser information, access time — for site operation and security; (b) font files, served from our own server, so no request is sent to a third party for this; (c) on film/video pages, the video itself is not loaded until you click "play" — only then is a Vimeo player embedded, at which point your IP address may be shared with Vimeo, Inc. and Vimeo may set its own cookies (see Cookie Notice below).

Our Contact page shows the photographer's email address directly as a link; it collects or transmits no data of its own.

Legal Basis

Server-log processing relies on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f); GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The documentary photography and film content on this site is published for artistic expression and freedom of expression purposes (KVKK Art. 28(1); GDPR Art. 85, subject to the journalistic/artistic derogations of applicable national law). Where content involves special-category personal data, explicit consent has additionally been sought from the individuals concerned.

Transfers

Limited technical data (IP address) may be shared with GitHub, Inc. (USA) for hosting, and — only if you choose to play a video — Vimeo, Inc. (USA) for video playback. These providers are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to know whether we process your data, request information about it, learn its purpose, know third parties it's shared with, request correction or erasure, and object to processing (KVKK Art. 11; GDPR Art. 15–22). People Depicted in Photographs

Individuals appearing in the documentary photographs and films on this site were informed about the shoot/publication and, where possible, gave written consent. If you (or someone you are the guardian of) would like an image removed, please contact us at the address above; requests are considered alongside public interest, artistic/historic value, and freedom of expression.

Cookie Notice

This site does not set any cookies of its own. Some preferences (such as which menu sections are expanded) are stored in your browser's localStorage instead of a cookie; this information is never sent to our servers.

Film and video pages show a "play" button rather than loading the video automatically. Nothing is requested from Vimeo until you click it. Once you do, the video is embedded via Vimeo, which — depending on its own settings — may then set cookies for playback preferences and, potentially, analytics. You can manage or block these through your browser settings, though this may affect some player functionality. For Vimeo's own cookie and privacy practices, see vimeo.com/privacy.

This site does not use advertising, third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), or tracking pixels.
